First Step Preschool is owned by the Black Forest Community Church (United Church of Christ) and has proudly served the Black Forest community (including Colorado Springs, Falcon, Peyton and Monument) for over 20 years.

Sharing time with friends

Our learning program is designed as a social, educational, recreational and Christian environment in which children can grow physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Teacher-directed and child-directed activities are provided each day, focusing on all areas of development including a second language, Spanish.

All of our learning materials and Montessori equipment are age-appropriate and arranged in the following areas: Sensory Development, Practical Life, Language, Mathematics, Science, Art, Music, Books, Blocks and Dramatic Play Area. We make sure that we cover all of the State Educational benchmarks for kindergarten readiness. Our program is reinforced with select Montessori methods.
